Ashley Hopkinson

Ashley Hopkinson is an experienced journalism professional currently serving as the Solutions Insights Lab Manager at Solutions Journalism Network since November 2021. In this role, Ashley leads an innovative platform focused on exploring effective responses to pressing social issues. Previously, Ashley successfully built and scaled the Network's first Journalists of Color fellowship and supported five newsrooms in health equity projects. Prior experience includes a Senior Editor position at Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK, where Ashley founded and led the regional vertical The American South, as well as various roles in education and reporting at organizations such as EdSource, Macon Magazine, and The Associated Press. Ashley holds a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Auburn University.
