John Gilmer

With a PhD in Steroid Synthetic Chemistry from Trinity College Dublin, John has extensive experience in research & development. He has previously worked with Unimed where he played a lead role in the development and qualification of a new modified release formulation of isosorbide mononitrate and a prodrug. John was named inventor on numerous patent applications in the cardiovascular area. Since 1998 John has held a position as lecturer in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Trinity College Dublin. He has an active medicinal chemistry research group which has published widely on drug discovery and development. John is an active pharmaceutical development consultant and has participated as an expert in several high-profile pharmaceutical patent trials in the Irish High Court.
