Ahmet Sen has a diverse background in the field of operations research, with over 20 years of experience in various positions. Ahmet started their career in 2003 as an Operations Research Lecturer at the Naval Academy and served in that capacity until 2009. During this time, they delivered courses on project management, operations research, statistics, and Pascal. Ahmet also coordinated administrative duties for the department, including constructing decision support tools for course evaluation, organizing big ceremonies with decision support tools, and coordinating the organization of international NATO/Europe level meetings. In 2009, they became an Operations Research Analyst at the Scientific Decision Support Centers, where they authored technical operations research reports and designed decision support systems based on mathematical programming. During this time, they reported on alignment and gap status of standard operating procedures, legal documents, and personnel and organization information management systems. Ahmet also collaborated with colleagues on strategic decision support system design and implementation and developed optimization models using Java and IBM ILOG CPLEX. In 2015, they became a Wargaming Simulation Model Developer, where they managed simulation entities and environment, planned for computer-aided exercises, and modeled solutions for tactical problems using MS Excel with VBA and R. From 2018-2020, they were a Business Process Analyst at Enterprise & Digital Transformation – Enterprise Architecture, Business Process Management Department, where they coordinated a holistic enterprise transformation project within the Turkish Naval Forces, collected and coordinated user requirements, and aligned them with standard operating procedures, manuals, and best practices. Ahmet also prepared reports for changing from classical strategy documents to enterprise-architecture-compatible strategy documents and installed Software AG products ALFABET and ARIS to implement enterprise architecture together with business processes. Finally, they were Software/Applications Development Branch Head at Inventory Control Center (ICC), where they supervised all the duties performed by the branch in developing and maintaining application systems to Turkish Naval Forces Command, Ministry of National Defence Shipyards General Directorate, and ICC regarding mainly all aspects of logistic operations. Ahmet oversaw the technologies used to their full potential and coordinated with the Database and Systems Management Branch to serve the whole logistics life cycle.
Ahmet Sen obtained a Master of Science degree in Operations Research from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, studying from 2001 to 2002. Ahmet also received several additional certifications, including Oracle Cloud Data Management 2022 Foundations Certified Associate and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 2022 Certified Foundations Associate from Oracle in March 2023. In addition, they completed the ORSA Military Applications Course (ORSA-MAC) through the Army Logistics University - College of Professional and Continuing Education in November 2019 and the P5-07 NATO Information Knowledge Management Course through NATO SCHOOL OBERAMMERGAU in October 2018.
