Trudy Craig

Trudy Craig has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Trudy is currently serving as the Head of Governance at Somerset Care, a position they have held since March 2020. Before joining Somerset Care, Trudy worked at Care UK for fourteen years as the Patient Quality and Safety Manager, focusing on governance, complaints, and litigation. In this role, they were responsible for managing governance information requirements and ensuring compliance with statutory reporting. Trudy also worked at the National Joint Registry as the Regional Audit Coordinator and Senior Business Management Consultant. During their time there, they facilitated data submissions and improved data quality for 65 hospitals across five regions. Prior to that, Trudy served as the Ward Manager at Nuffield Health Bristol Hospital, where they oversaw four wards and 64 beds. Trudy also held the position of Modernisation Manager, Surgical Services, and Elective Care at Weston Area Health NHS Trust, where they were responsible for service review and development in surgical services. Overall, Trudy has demonstrated their expertise in governance, patient safety, data management, and leadership throughout their career.

Trudy Craig pursued their education at The Open University, where they completed their Master's degree in Advancing Healthcare Practice from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they also obtained a BA (Hons) in English and Creative Writing and an MSc in Advancing Healthcare Practice from The Open University, which they completed between 2010 and 2021. Trudy's educational background showcases their interest and expertise in healthcare practice, as well as their passion for humanities and humanistic studies.
