Shane Coppin

CEO at Somerville House

Shane Coppin is the current CEO of Somerville House. Prior to this, they were a consultant and transition advisor for AusCycling, and before that, the CEO of BMX Australia.

Shane has played a key leadership role in the establishment of AusCycling, and was responsible for integrating staff from across the country into one organisation. Shane oversaw budget development, high performance and sport development programs, and coordinated data and member migration.

At BMX Australia, Shane was responsible for the day-to-day governance, management and direction of the organisation. This included business and operational strategies, financial administration, business plan development, workforce direction and management, member and stakeholder deliverables, along with marketing and growth strategies.

Shane is a highly experienced and respected leader in the Australian cycling community, and has been instrumental in developing the sport at both the grassroots and elite levels.

Shane Coppin has a Bachelors in Applied Science from the University of Canberra in Sports Studies. Shane also has a Masters in Project Leadership and Management from the University of Sydney. In addition, they have a Diploma in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Southern Queensland and a Postgraduate degree in Exercise Science - Strength and Conditioning from Edith Cowan University. Shane also has a High School Diploma from Greenbrier High School.
