Irene Keizer

Irene Keizer is an experienced manager with a strong background in health policy and grant management. Currently a Manager at SOMO since April 2019, Irene is part of the Management Team. Prior to this role, Irene served as Manager Policy and Grants at Aidsfonds from February 2006 to January 2019, where contributions were made to advancing the foundation's mission towards a world without AIDS. Additionally, Irene held various positions at Aidsfonds, including Manager and Interim Project Manager for the LAASER initiative, focusing on HIV drug resistance in developing countries. Earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports from 2001 to 2006 and participating in a government traineeship at Rijkswaterstaat from 1999 to 2001. Irene holds a Master of Laws in Civil Law from the University of Groningen and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the Haagse Vestiging van de Universiteit Leiden.
