Dave Ong

Dave Ong is an accomplished professional in the marine insurance sector with extensive experience in leadership roles across Asia Pacific. Currently serving as the Head of Marine for Sompo since May 2024, Dave previously held positions such as Head of Marine for AIG in Singapore and led the Marine department at Ascot Underwriting Asia. Dave's career highlights include establishing the Marine Portfolio at ArgoGlobal Dubai, achieving a sustainable and profitable business mix, and managing P&L for Marine Hull and Liability classes at RSA. Additionally, foundational experiences include loss adjusting at Insight Adjusters & Surveyors Pte Ltd and internships at Jurong and Pan United Shipyards. Dave holds an Associate degree from the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Diploma in Marine & Offshore Technology from Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
