Richard Brown

Richard Brown has extensive work experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on property and marine lines. Richard currently holds the position of Head of Property - UK and International Commercial Lines at Sompo International since 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Generali from 2015 to 2021, where they served as the Head of Property and Marine Lines, leading a team of underwriters and managing a diverse portfolio. Before joining Generali, they worked at Liberty Specialty Markets as the UK Property Manager, responsible for building and growing the commercial property line of business in the UK and Europe. Richard also held positions at Endurance Worldwide Insurance & QBE European Group, Ace European Group, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group, and RSA, where they gained valuable experience as a Senior Property Underwriter and Underwriting Manager.

Richard Brown attended Ardingly College, Leicester University, and the MIB Trieste School of Management. At Leicester University, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics. Additionally, they received GATE training in Disruption and Innovation at the MIB Trieste School of Management. Richard also completed the ACII program at The Chartered Insurance Institute, earning the designation of a Chartered Insurance Practitioner.
