Helen Kang Shin

Deputy General Counsel at Sonder

Helen Kang Shin is the Deputy General Counsel at Sonder. Helen has extensive experience in counseling clients in the acquisition, sale, leasing and financing of all major classes of real estate. Helen has also drafted and negotiated purchase agreements, leases, licenses and loan documents. In addition, they have prepared diverse range of development related agreements including CC&R’s and easements.

Ms. Shin started their legal career as an Associate at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP from June 2003 to February 2006. Helen then joined Morrison & Foerster LLP as an Attorney from March 2006 to March 2012. During their time at Morrison & Foerster LLP, they were a top performing attorney who was highly-regarded by their managers and peers. Helen consistently received “highest merit” designation, a distinction that is strictly reserved for the top 10% of attorneys at their firm.

From January 2009 to December 2015, Ms. Shin was a Member, Vice Chair, and Advisor of the California State Bar Real Property Law Section Executive Committee.

Helen Kang Shin attended the University of California, Berkeley, where they earned a B.A. in Political Economy. Helen then attended Columbia Law School, where they earned a J.D. in Law.
