Sondotécnica was founded in 1954. Its initial objective was to work in the areas of Investigation and Soil Survey. As time passed and the strong investment in research, education and qualification, Sondotécnica has expanded its range of services. After specializing in the Studies of Dams and Consulting for the Construction of Hydroelectric Plants, it was a pioneer in the areas of Hydrology, Oceanography and Sediment Transport. Sondotécnica also specialized in the structural segment, which allowed it to design structural projects of a wide variety of purposes, from buildings to bridges, from dams to industrial complexes. In the course of its history, it has executed numerous projects involving management, supervision, director plan projects, strategic and feasibility studies . Its projects total 25,000 km of highways, 3,200 km of railways, 120 port projects, 3,500 MW of hydroelectric plants, 150 million cubic meters in dams, 15 million hectares of irrigated areas, 60 lift stations, 2,500 km of collecting networks and 700 Km of water pipes.
