Robert Gunkel

Robert Gunkel is an accomplished finance executive with extensive experience in the hospitality and wellness industries. Currently serving as Chief Financial Officer at Sonesta Hotels since October 2023, Robert oversees finance, accounting, financial planning and analysis, and procurement for the eighth largest hotel company in the U.S. Previously, Robert held roles such as adjunct finance professor at Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Chief Financial Officer for Big Blue Swim School and Restore Hyper Wellness, and Senior Vice President and CFO at Ocean Reef Club. With a solid foundation in corporate finance gained from senior positions at IHG Hotels & Resorts and other prestigious firms, Robert holds an MBA from The Wharton School and a Bachelor's degree from the UVA McIntire School of Commerce.
