Achilles Poloynis

Achilles Poloynis has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering, development, and web consulting. Achilles started their career in 2000 at Cisco Systems as a Sr. Web Consultant, where they designed and implemented custom news portals and forums for internal and external business users. At Autodesks, they worked as a Web Developer for a short period. From 2008 to 2017, they were employed at Autonet Mobile as a Software Engineering Manager, Senior Software Engineer, and UI Programmer. There, they were responsible for developing and designing new mobile and desktop applications, as well as user interfaces for various car manufacturers and dealerships. At Sonoma State University from 2018 to 2022, Achilles worked as an Analyst/Programmer and Technical Lead, enhancing functionality and upgrading Drupal sites while ensuring high security and accessibility standards. Additionally, they worked as a PHP Consultant and Moodle Developer at Bauman College from 2010 to 2012.

Currently, Achilles is working at Common Sense Media as a Senior Developer, where they troubleshoot, enhances accessibility, and resolves bugs in Drupal 9 using PHP and JavaScript. Achilles creates new custom content types using OOP PHP, JS, SCSS/CSS, and twig templates. From December 2022 onwards, Achilles will be joining Sonic as a Senior Software Engineer.

Achilles Poloynis attended Santa Rosa Junior College from 1992 to 2006, where they studied Music Theory and Performance. In 1996, they briefly attended Cal State Hayward, focusing on Music and Psychology. Additionally, Achilles obtained a certification in Architecting on AWS from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in September 2021.
