Justin Lipp

Justin Lipp, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in the field of education and instructional design. Justin is currently the Director of the Center for Teaching & Educational Technology at Sonoma State University, where they oversee various initiatives related to teaching pedagogy, faculty development, and educational technology. Prior to that, they served as the Service Manager for Course Evaluations at UC Berkeley, where they played a key role in developing and managing the university's electronic course evaluation system. Justin also worked as a Graduate Instructional Design Consultant for UC Santa Barbara's Collaborate Project, focusing on expanding the use of technology in teaching. Additionally, they have experience as a Graduate Instructor at the Department of Communication at UCSB and as a Sponge Project Coordinator at North Dakota State University. Justin Lipp, Ph.D. holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Communication Science from UC Santa Barbara, which they completed between 2006 and 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's Degree in Communication Science from North Dakota State University from 2004 to 2006. Justin also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Concordia College, which they earned from 2002 to 2004. In addition to their formal education, Justin has also completed the UC Berkeley Catalysts Leadership Development Program from UC Berkeley and obtained the ITIL ITSM Foundations Certificate from Pink Elephant in 2014.
