Derek Overstreet

Derek Overstreet is the CEO & Co-Founder of Sonoran Biosciences, an early stage drug development company focusing on postoperative pain and surgical site infection. Prior to this, Derek worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the ASU Center for Interventional Biomaterials where Derek designed and developed novel injectable hydrogels for drug release, and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the CWRU Center for Delivery of Molecules and Cells where Derek synthesized modified antibiotics for drug delivery devices. Derek holds a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Arizona State University and a BSE in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
