Andy Bigos has a diverse work experience in the field of graphics and gaming technology. Andy started their career as a Programmer at 3Dlabs, where they worked on developing 3D graphics accelerators and contributed to C Simulation, OpenGL driver development, and validation. Andy also gained expertise in rasterization and texture handling and was awarded patents for their work.

Andy then joined Computer Artworks as a Game Programmer, where they worked on the physics engine for the PC title Evolva and later developed the rendering engine for the PlayStation 2 title John Carpenter's The Thing. Their work became the core technology for several PlayStation 2 titles.

Andy's next career move was to Sony Interactive Entertainment, where they held various roles. As a Senior Engineer, they worked on the development and testing of the PlayStation 2 emulator for PlayStation 3. Andy created new testing frameworks, reverse-engineered undocumented behavior of the PlayStation 2, and handled title debugging.

Andy then took on the role of Principal Engineer in Research and Development, focusing on developing a procedural rendering system for PlayStation 3 as part of the PhyreEngine rendering engine. Andy also played a key role in developing the continuous integration system for PhyreEngine and later rolled it out to other teams in the department. Their work in automated printing of game content resulted in the grant of 9 patents in the area of capturing and processing data for 3D printing.

In their most recent role at Sony Interactive Entertainment as a Senior Principal Engineer in Research and Development, Andy led a small team focused on innovating in the area of photo-realistic rendering technologies. Andy developed proofs of concept and reported to stakeholders, with a particular emphasis on rendering photorealistic content in real-time for virtual reality. Their work resulted in multiple patents and was primarily developed in C, C++, and HLSL, with a focus on PlayStation 4.

Throughout their career, Andy Bigos has consistently demonstrated their expertise in graphics technology, game development, rendering systems, and research and development. Andy has a strong track record of innovation, problem-solving, and securing patents in their area of expertise.

Andy Bigos attended Fukuoka Japanese Language School from 2004 to 2005, where they studied Japanese Language. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science - MS degree in Computer Graphics at Teesside University from 1990 to 1991. Their undergraduate education was completed at Loughborough University from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor of Technology - BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering.
