Bryan Cotta

Director, Global Security Architecture at Sony Interactive Entertainment

Bryan Cotta has extensive experience in the field of security and engineering. Bryan began their career as a Teaching Fellow at UCLA and later worked as an MCAT Physics Instructor at The Princeton Review. Bryan then transitioned to the industry, where they held various roles at Raytheon Company as a Senior Principal Systems Engineer. Bryan then joined EMC Corp, where they worked as a Principal Software Engineer, focusing on designing complex authentication systems and enhancing process authorization security. In 2014, they moved to PlayStation, where they served as the Director of Security, Cloud Gaming Engineering & Infrastructure. Here, they led a team in securing PlayStation Now and other Gaikai products. Bryan also held the role of Principal Application Security Engineer at PlayStation, where they developed innovative security solutions for cloud-based gaming and streaming applications. Currently, Bryan is the Director of Global Security Architecture at Sony Interactive Entertainment, where they are responsible for ensuring the security and availability of the company's products.

Bryan Cotta has a strong educational background with a focus on mathematics. Bryan obtained their Ph.D. in Mathematics from UCLA, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their M.A. in Mathematics at UCLA from 1998 to 2000. Bryan also holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Applied Science from UCLA, which they earned from 1994 to 1998. In addition to their academic pursuits, they obtained the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification from GIAC Certifications in January 2017.
