Chad Goolbis has over 20 years of experience in the gaming industry. Chad is currently working as a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Sony Interactive Entertainment since April 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Sony Creative Software as a Staff Software Engineer for 12 years, from September 2009 to April 2022.

Before joining Sony, Chad had experience working as a Technical Director - IP and Lead Engineer at Aspyr Media from November 2007 to July 2009. Chad played a crucial role in the development of Aspyr's original intellectual property on the NintendoDS, leading the engineering team and designing original engine technology for rapid development of game content. Chad also built a level editing tool and a data cooker.

Chad also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Midway Studios from September 2006 to November 2007. There, they were a senior member of the game-play programming team for Blacksite: Area 51, responsible for developing game-play systems and implementing save game and backup systems for Xbox360 and PS3.

Earlier in their career, Chad served as a Lead Programmer at Amaze Entertainment from January 2003 to September 2006. Chad led the programming effort for the first NintendoDS title developed by Amaze-Austin and improved existing technology to streamline workflow. Chad also worked as a Software Engineer at Amaze Entertainment and contributed to the development of The Hobbit and Spider-man for PC.

Chad's career began at Acclaim Entertainment in March 2000, where they worked as a Programmer. Chad made technical contributions to the development of Quarterback Club Football and NBA Jam for PS2, Xbox, and GameCube, implementing graphics systems, collision detection, instant replay, and audio subsystems.

Overall, Chad Goolbis has a diverse and extensive background in software engineering and game development, with a focus on technical leadership and innovation.

Chad Goolbis pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies from The Evergreen State College between 1992 and 1994. Chad then furthered their education by attending Montana State University-Bozeman from 1996 to 1999, where they acquired a Master of Science degree in Computer Science.
