James Bottell has work experience primarily at Sony Interactive Entertainment since 2016. James started as a SWQA Tester on a temporary contract for 5 weeks, where they checked the compatibility of newly submitted titles on firmware, tested new firmware features, and investigated bugs. James then joined as a full-time SWQA Tester in December 2017 and worked until September 2019. In September 2019, they became an Automation Tester, initially on a 6-month secondment, but eventually transitioning into a full-time position. In this role, James developed and maintained an automation system using Java and Python programming languages to help with boot checking titles for PlayStation systems. Since May 2022, they have been working as a Test Engineer, focusing on developing and maintaining the automation system. Prior to their work at Sony Interactive Entertainment, James was a student at Liverpool John Moores University from September 2011 to May 2014.
James Bottell completed their education in a chronological manner. From 2009 to 2011, they attended Cowley Language College Sixth Form, where they obtained a BTEC National Diploma in ICT, with a focus on Information Technology. Following this, they went on to study at Liverpool John Moores University from 2011 to 2014, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Games Technology.
