Keelan Bowker-O'Brien

Senior Product Manager at Sony Interactive Entertainment

Keelan Bowker-O'Brien has a strong background in game design and game economy. Keelan currently holds the position of Senior Game Economy Designer at Sony Interactive Entertainment starting in October 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a SysDesign Consultant at Brainly from November 2020 to February 2022, where they focused on increasing retention, engagement, and conversion. Before that, they worked at Ubisoft from April 2019 to October 2020 as a Game Economy Designer and later as a Game Economy Designer/Product Manager. At Ubisoft, Keelan was responsible for innovating on system design for hyper-casual games, managing cross-project teams, and coordinating with outside partners. Keelan also worked on Assassin's Creed Rebellion, focusing on systems design, game balance, and monetization and retention design.

Earlier in their career, Keelan held positions as a Game Economy Designer/Lead Game Designer at Gameloft from August 2017 to February 2019, where they used data to drive game balance and monetization decisions. Keelan also organized KPI reports for top management and administered AB tests for performance optimization. Prior to that, they worked as a Narrative Game Designer at IGG from December 2016 to July 2017, where they analyzed game design pillars to create a story for a Massively Multiplayer Online RPG (MMORPG). Keelan also served as a Marketing and Public Relations Specialist at IGG from February 2016 to July 2016, using data to drive social media strategy.

Before entering the gaming industry, Keelan worked as a Culture Immersion Trainer at Joylink from October 2013 to February 2016. Keelan also gained experience as a Logistic Data Specialist at the US Department of Defense from July 2009 to August 2013, where they performed material resource planning functions using SAP Database and enterprise resource planning using Microsoft Excel. Keelan began their career as an intern in Wealth Management at UBS in June 2008.

Keelan Bowker-O'Brien pursued their Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management from the Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics at the University of Delaware, which they completed between 2007 and 2011. During the same period, they also obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from the University of Delaware.
