Derek Cheu serves as the Vice President of Global Compensation at Sony Music Entertainment, where responsibilities include managing compensation and people analytics for 6,000 employees across 47 countries since September 2014. Prior to this role, Derek held the position of Senior Director of Compensation at Saks Fifth Avenue, overseeing corporate compensation processes for numerous store locations and distribution centers. Derek's earlier experience includes a stint as a Compensation Consultant at Liz Claiborne, where a new incentive plan was developed for district managers, and as Assistant Vice President of Compensation at Bank of America, managing compensation processes for over 2,000 associates. Derek's career began at JPMorgan Chase, progressing through various roles in Leadership & Organizational Development and Human Resources. Academically, Derek holds a Master of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UC San Diego.
