Gérald Munoz

Gérald Munoz is a Senior Bioinformatician and Computer Scientist at SOPHiA GENETICS since December 2021, where responsibilities include developing pathogenicity classifiers, managing tertiary analysis modules, and improving annotation workflows and pipeline maintenance. Previously, Gérald held various positions at Michelin from November 2018 to October 2021, including Bioinformatician and Doctoral Research Engineer focused on polymer network modeling. Early experience includes research internships at the Institut des sciences analytiques et de physico-chimie pour l'environnement et les matériaux, where projects involved porphyrin reactivity and molecular dynamics simulations, as well as a research assistantship focused on generating molecular objects for quantum chemistry codes. Gérald also taught Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at 7&maths. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Chemistry from Université Clermont Auvergne and a Master’s in Chemistry and Physico-Chemistry of Materials from the University of Pau and Adour Countries.
