John Hammock is a distinguished academic and leader with extensive experience in public policy and international development. Currently serving as Board Chair of SOPHIA Oxford and a Research Associate at the Oxford Department of International Development, John co-founded the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative. Previous roles include Associate Professor at Tufts University's Fletcher School, Managing Director of the Global Equity Initiative at Harvard University, and Executive Director at Accion. John has a strong commitment to social equity, demonstrated through founding Women's World Banking and participating in key development initiatives across Latin America. John holds an honorary Doctor of Laws from Denison University and a Ph.D. in International Relations-Development Studies from The Fletcher School at Tufts University.
