Role Summary The Director of Sales Public Sector will lead Sophos' sales initiatives in the US Public Sector, concentrating on developing and expanding the client base in the eastern half of the United States. Reporting to the VP of Sales, this role requires close collaboration with senior leadership, marketing teams, and strategic channel partners to drive revenue growth and enhance market presence. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a successful history of building and leading high-performance sales teams, along with a proven ability to formulate effective go-to-market strategies within the cybersecurity sector.

What You Will Do

  • Formulate and implement tailored sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share objectives within the  US Public Sector
  • Establish and manage a high-performing sales team capable of delivering revenue growth and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Cultivate robust relationships with key clients, strategic partners, and influential entities within the  US Public Sector
  • Collaborate effectively with marketing teams and channel partners to devise and execute impactful go-to-market strategies
  • Deliver regular reporting and analysis on sales performance, keeping abreast of market trends
  • Develop and sustain a comprehensive understanding of the cybersecurity landscape and competitive dynamics in the  US Public Sector
  • Ensure adherence to legal, ethical standards, and compliance with company policies and procedures

What You Will Do

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred
  • Over 10 years of leadership experience in sales, specifically within the cybersecurity industry, with a focus on US education and government sales
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue growth and expanding market share in previous sales leadership roles
  • Expertise in building and leading high-performance sales teams
  • In-depth knowledge of the cybersecurity market and competitive dynamics within  the US state, local, federal, and education sectors
  • Demonstrated success in crafting and executing go-to-market strategies within the cybersecurity sector
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
