Amy Williamson

Amy Williamson is a highly experienced professional in the field of sign language interpretation and education, currently serving as the Director of Academic Programs & Initiatives at Sorenson Communications since October 2019. With a career spanning over three decades, Amy has been a practicing ASL/English Interpreter and Interpreter Educator in a private practice since September 1990. Previous roles include significant leadership positions at the University of Northern Colorado, where Amy was the Director of Administration and Co-Director of Project CLIMB, and also served as Instruction Coordinator. Amy holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Sign Language Interpretation and Translation from Gallaudet University (2015-2020), and a Master of Arts (MA) in Interpreting Studies from Western Oregon University (2013-2015), along with studies in Sociology and Linguistics from the University of Arizona (1997-1998).
