Maurício Garcia

Maurício Garcia has over 30 years of work experience in the energy industry. Maurício is currently the Energy Business Unit Director at Sotreq S/A, where they manage a team of 250 employees and is responsible for strategic planning and budgeting. Prior to this, they held various roles at Sotreq, including Energy Business Unit Manager and Product and Engineering Support Manager. In these roles, they focused on developing strategic planning for operations support, engineering, and product support departments. Maurício also has experience as an Engineering Manager, overseeing the implementation and maintenance of energy projects. Maurício started their career as a Trainee and Sales Engineer at Sotreq, where they gained expertise in power systems and customer service. In addition, Maurício is set to become the President of the Administrative Council at COGEN - Associação da Indústria de Cogeração de Energia in 2023.

Maurício Garcia earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrotechnical Engineering from FAAP - Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado between 1987 and 1993. Maurício later obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Administration, Business, and Marketing from the same institution in 2000-2001. In 2012, Maurício pursued a course in Marketing Strategy at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Engenheiro Eletricista from CREA - SP in 2013. Currently, Maurício is pursuing a certificate in Disruptive Strategy from Harvard Business School Online, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
