Tom Abbi-Scanlon

Tom Abbi-Scanlon, CTS has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of audio engineering. Tom is currently working as a Lead Design Engineer at SPL LLC since 2022. Previously, they held the position of Project Engineer at AVDG, LLC / Guitar Center from 2018 to 2021. Tom also worked as a Commercial System Designer at TVTI in 2018. Prior to that, Tom worked as an Assistant Technical Director at Northeastern Illinois University from 2016 to 2018. Tom gained valuable experience as the Audio Department Head at Paramount Theatre from 2013 to 2016, where they managed all production sound requirements for the theater's Broadway Series. Before that, they worked as a Sound Engineer at Marriott Theater from 2009 to 2013, where they operated the sound system for an 870 seat in-the-round style theater and designed a fail-safe playback system.

Tom Abbi-Scanlon, CTS completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Theatre Technology from DePaul University in 2009. Tom has also obtained various certifications from institutions such as K-ARRAY | Unique Audio Solutions, Crestron Electronics, Biamp, Extron, Zoom, Shure Incorporated, Audinate, and QSC, covering topics such as audio systems, technology architecture, sales, and integration.
