Dan Brunton

Director Of Mobile Application Development at SoundHound

Dan Brunton has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies in the tech industry. Dan started their career as a Software Engineer at Trimble Navigation, where they developed a database server and a C++ class library for various applications. Dan then worked at Symantec as a Senior Software Engineer, playing a lead role in the development of ACT!, a sales contact management software package.

Brunton then joined Praxon as the Manager and Architect of the Applications Development Group, where they oversaw the design and implementation of call switching/routing, telephony applications, and networking applications. After that, they joined Qualcomm Cambridge as a Senior Staff Manager, where they developed a network-based data repository management architecture for sharing and discovering personal data.

Brunton later joined Qualcomm in Santa Clara as a Senior Staff Manager in their Path Finder Group, where they developed a platform for location-based services and explored mobile device position reporting. Dan then moved on to Google as an Android Developer Advocate, specializing in Android games and assisting strategic partners in adopting the Android platform.

Following their time at Google, Brunton founded their own company, Juxtapozz, a software consultancy that developed cutting-edge mobile applications, including an Android app for Qualcomm's next-generation GPS chip test application. Most recently, they worked at SoundHound as the Director of Mobile Application Development, where they were responsible for the development of the SoundHound application and introduced the Agile development process.

Dan Brunton holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Engineering from the University of Maryland.
