Baldur Rensch has extensive work experience in software engineering and architecture. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Architect at Sourceability and Chief Technology Officer at LAShowroom.com, where they managed teams of software engineers and implemented micro-service oriented architectures. Baldur also has experience as a Senior PHP Architect at NordstromRack.com | HauteLook, where they migrated applications and redesigned architecture using Symfony 2 framework. Earlier in their career, Baldur worked as an Application Architect and Technical Lead at Opensoft LLC, overseeing the development of key components and managing projects. Baldur started their career as a Web Application Developer at the University of Illinois and as a Research Assistant at The University of Heidelberg, contributing to IT projects and assisting in research projects, respectively. Overall, Baldur has demonstrated expertise in engineering leadership, architecture, and development throughout their career.

Baldur Rensch pursued their education, starting from 2001 until 2005, at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. There, they completed a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Computer Science/Mathematics and Economics. Afterward, from 2006 to 2007, Baldur enrolled at Purdue University Daniels School of Business and secured a Master of Science degree in Economics.
