Samkele Leve

Samkele Leve is an Associate Financial Markets Specialist at the South African Reserve Bank since September 2023. Previously, Samkele served as an Economist focusing on Financial Markets and Stability at the National Treasury of South Africa, where responsibilities included producing banking reports, conducting research on AML/CFT, and preparing briefings for the Financial Stability Board. Samkele also contributed to international economic policy, supporting G20 and BRICS initiatives and participating in IMF engagements. Prior experience includes a Research Assistant role at the Govern Mbeki Research and Development Centre and serving as an Academic Tutor at the University of Fort Hare. Samkele holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from Umeå University and multiple degrees in Economics and Financial Markets from the University of Fort Hare.
