Sifiso Mhlaba

Sifiso Mhlaba has a diverse work experience in the agricultural and economic sectors. Sifiso started their career in 2009 as a Grower Support Officer at the South Africa Canegrowers association, where they provided institutional and economic advisory services to smallholder sugarcane growers. Sifiso also identified training and development needs for farmers, including financial management training.

In 2012, Sifiso joined the Competition Commission as a Junior Economist, where they worked until 2013. During this time, they gained valuable experience in economic analysis and research.

Following this, Sifiso worked as an Economist at DNA Economics from 2013 to 2015. Sifiso then joined the South African Sugar Association as a Research Economist, where they contributed to economic research projects within the organization.

In 2015, Sifiso was promoted to the role of National Market and International Affairs Executive at the South African Sugar Association. In this position, they played a crucial role in overseeing national market operations and managing international affairs.

Most recently, in 2021, Sifiso was appointed as a Non-Executive Director (Council Member) at the National Agricultural Marketing Council in South Africa. This role demonstrates their expertise and leadership in the agricultural sector.

Finally, in 2019, they attended Stellenbosch Business School to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, specializing in Business Administration and Management. Sifiso completed their MBA in 2020.
