Leigh Miller

Director Preparedness Operations at South Australian Country Fire Service

Leigh Miller has a wealth of experience in various roles within the South Australian Country Fire Service. Starting in 1986, Leigh held the position of Bushfire Prevention Officer for 15 years, where they provided expertise on bushfire prevention and trained Fire Prevention Officers. In 2001, Leigh became the Manager of Prevention Services, overseeing the development of bushfire prevention plans and commentating on residential and tourist developments in bushfire-prone areas. In 2013, Leigh was promoted to the role of Director of Preparedness Operations. Additionally, Leigh has worked as a Scientific Officer for SA Woods and Forests from 1990 to 1992 and as a Technical Officer in Weed Research for SA NPWS from 1984 to 1986.

Leigh Miller attended Aldgate Primary School in Aldgate, South Australia from 1957 to 1964. After completing primary school, they went on to Urrbrae Agricultural College in Adelaide, South Australia, from 1964 to 1969. However, no degree or field of study information was provided for their time at Urrbrae Agricultural College. Finally, Leigh Miller attended Roseworthy Agricultural College in South Australia from 1980 to 1985, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources Management with a specialization in Land Rehabilitation.
