Andrew Phillips

Andrew Phillips is an experienced professional in emergency management and meteorology. Currently serving as the Chief of Preparedness at the South Carolina Emergency Management Division since April 2015, Andrew oversees the development and review of Local Hazard Mitigation Plans and enhances the Hazard Mitigation Planning Program. Prior experience at Media General from January 2012 to April 2015 included roles as a Meteorologist, where Andrew effectively communicated severe weather information and led community preparedness efforts. Andrew's career began at WMBF as a Meteorologist and News Content Specialist from June 2010 to December 2011, following internships at FOX 5 Atlanta and the National Weather Service. Andrew holds a degree in Geography with a focus on Atmospheric Science from The University of Georgia.
