Marina Hendricks

Marina Hendricks serves as an Associate Professor of Journalism at South Dakota State University since August 2017, having previously held positions as Assistant Professor and Instructor in the same department. Prior experience includes a tenure at the University of Missouri-Columbia as a Doctoral Student, Teaching Fellow, and Research Assistant from August 2013 to July 2017. Marina's extensive background in communications and journalism includes roles at the Newspaper Association of America, where responsibilities spanned from Director of Communications to overseeing programs fostering youth engagement with newspapers. Additional experience encompasses editorial roles and teaching positions at various institutions, along with a solid educational foundation, including a Ph.D. in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia, an M.A. in Journalism Education from Kent State University, and a B.A. in Journalism from Marshall University.
