Ian Fenton

Ian Fenton is an experienced maritime professional currently serving as RYA Principal and Lecturer at South Devon College since February 2019, specializing in Yacht Operations and Marine Technologies Foundation Degree courses. As an independent surveyor since June 2015, Ian Fenton conducts various surveys for small craft and yachts and is a member of British Marine Surveyors Europe. Ian Fenton has been a board member of the British Marine Federation South West since September 2013. Previous roles include General Manager at First Class Nautical Limited, where responsibilities included yacht arrest and management services, and 1st Officer at Palmer Johnson Yachts UK. Ian Fenton also has extensive experience as Yacht Trials Crew at Devonport Yachts and served as a Bugler in the Royal Marines Band Service. Education was completed at Enfield Grammar School from 1985 to 1990.
