Cassondra Armstrong possesses extensive experience in environmental science and ecosystem management, currently serving as the Section Administrator for both the Coastal Ecosystem Section and Water Quality Treatment Technologies at the South Florida Water Management District since February 2014. In this role, Cassondra investigates the impact of freshwater flow on estuarine health and provides insights for water release schedules. Previous experience includes positions as a Project Scientist at Cardno ENTRIX, focusing on ecological services and wetland restoration, and as a Senior Environmental Scientist at Cardno TBE, evaluating prescribed fires for ecosystem restoration. Cassondra also held a Postdoctoral Fellowship at NASA Kennedy Space Center, researching salt marsh restoration, and worked as an Environmental Scientist supporting the EPA's EMAP. Cassondra earned a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia, an MS in Biology from East Carolina University, and a BS in Environmental Science from the University of Mary Washington.
