Susan Mason

Susan Mason is an experienced environmental scientist with a strong background in water quality and natural resource management. Currently serving as an Environmental Scientist Supervisor at the South Florida Water Management District since March 2020, Susan oversees a team focused on supporting the agency's core mission related to water resource priorities and provides technical expertise in wetland science and water quality. Prior roles include Senior Natural Resources Specialist and Parks Environmental Maintenance Supervisor at Broward County Parks and Recreation Division, and Environmental Specialist with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Susan has extensive experience coordinating environmental inspections, managing natural areas, and leading ecosystem restoration projects, complemented by a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Ecology from The University of Akron.
