Sophie Aileen

Sophie Aileen is an advanced social worker currently working with the kinship/family placement team at South Gloucestershire Council since June 2024. Prior experience includes roles as a senior social worker in the Family Support and Safeguarding team at North Somerset Council, and as a senior practitioner in a community eating disorder team with Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. Sophie has a strong background in child protection, having advanced from social worker to advanced social worker within South Gloucestershire Council, where responsibilities included complex court work and student support. Additionally, Sophie has experience as a healthcare assistant in an eating disorders ward at Priory Group, and holds a Master of Arts in Social Work and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Birmingham. Sophie remains actively engaged in volunteering with Kids Adventure, contributing to respite breaks and other initiatives.
