Shawn Abner-Purnell, M.S. has extensive work experience in diversity, inclusion, organizational development, and talent management. From 2016, Shawn has been working at South Jersey Industries, starting as a Talent and Change Manager and progressing to the role of Chief Diversity Officer. Prior to that, Shawn worked at Reliance Standard from 1997 to 2016, where they held positions such as Manager of Employee Development and Employee Development Consultant. In these roles, Shawn successfully delivered leadership and organizational development solutions, designed and facilitated training programs, and worked to improve organizational effectiveness and employee engagement. Overall, Shawn's work experience demonstrates their expertise in driving organizational performance, promoting diversity and inclusion, and developing leaders.
Shawn Abner-Purnell, M.S., holds a Master of Science degree in Organizational Development and Training from Saint Joseph's University. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Morgan State University. In addition, Shawn Abner-Purnell has obtained the certification of 2023 DEI Executive of the Year - Winner from Canvas Credentials (Badgr).
