Michael Sood

Director, Non-Invasive Cardiology at South Nassau Communities Hospital Inc

Board-certified in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology, Dr. Sood completed his residency in internal medicine at New York-Methodist Hospital, affiliate via NY Presbyterian Health Care System and the Weill Cornell Heart Center, Park Slope, Brooklyn, where he was also fellowship-trained in cardiovascular disease. He additionally served as chief cardiac fellow. He completed his doctorate of medicine from Saba University School of Medicine, Saba, Netherlands Antilles and also earned a masters degree in hyperbaric medicine. He also completed an advanced imaging research fellowship with level 3 training in cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. Prior to joining the faculty at Mount Sinai South Nassau, Dr. Sood was in private practice.

Dr. Sood specializes in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. His focus has been on various inpatient clinical services and he also enjoys many aspects of cardiac and critical care medicine and teaching. Dr Sood has also helped advance the cardiac magnetic resonance imaging program at the hospital. He has strong interests in clinical medicine, teaching, advanced cardiac imaging as well as travel medicine.
