Matthew Mauzy

Chief at South Orange Rescue Squad

Matthew Mauzy has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Matthew started their career in 1995 as a Network/Systems Administrator in the Physics Department of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. From there, they moved on to become a Systems Administrator in the Math Department, followed by a Systems Administrator in the Applied Math Department. In 2003, they became a UNIX Systems Architect in the Office of Arts & Sciences Information Services, where they developed and managed customized builds for automated deployment. In 2007, they transitioned to the role of a Senior Administrator in the ITS Control Center. Matthew then served as an Interim Manager and later as an IT Manager in the same department before becoming the Emergency Response Technology Manager in the Office of the CIO. Matthew also has experience outside academia, as they served in various roles in the South Orange Rescue Squad. Matthew started as an EMT/Rescue Technician and went on to become an Operations Captain, Assistant Chief of EMS, and ultimately the Chief of the organization.

Matthew Mauzy attended Western Guilford High School from 1990 to 1994. Following that, they enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1994 to 1998. No degree or field of study information was specified for either institution.
