Obonabulumko Mbili is a geologist currently working at South32 in various capacities, including GIT Geologist for both open pit and underground mining, as well as acting in senior and supervisory roles for grade control. Previously, Obonabulumko served as an internship trainee at Richflood Ltd focusing on environmental and social standards, and gained experience as a practical demonstrator at Rhodes University. Additionally, Obonabulumko tutored high school students in science subjects at Nombulelo Senior Secondary School and acted as an assessment judge for the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists. Obonabulumko holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Geography, as well as a Bachelor of Science Honours in Geology, both from Rhodes University.
