Venetia Butterfield

Venetia Butterfield is Managing Director of Cornerstone, a division of Penguin Random House which includes imprints such as Century, Hutchinson, Heinemann, Randomhouse Business, #Merky, Del Rey and Penguin. Previously Venetia was Publisher of Penguin General and managed the Viking, Portfolio and Penguin Life imprints. She has published Robert Harris, Michelle Obama, Elif Shafak, Ben MacIntyre, Philippa Perry, John le Carré, Ruby Wax, Rangan Chatterjee, Kit de Waal and Elizabeth Strout.

At HarperCollins Venetia was responsible for setting up the imprint HarperPerennial, and her distinguished marketing career saw her lead the marketing operations for both HarperCollins and Collins Educational. She was also Vice Chair of Governors for West London Free School and Earl’s Court Free School.
