Stu Osterthun

Administrative Director, Marketing & Communications at Southeast Community College Area

Stu Osterthun and the Marketing & Communications team provide a variety of support services to the College, including communication, graphic design, copying/printing, media relations, social media, and advertising/marketing.

The office plays a major role in meeting the objectives of Goal 3 of the Strategic Plan: Communication and Public Awareness. The office’s mission is to protect, reinforce and elevate the College's brand and reputation by consistently and effectively implementing marketing and communications strategies and by providing creative services.

Stu has been involved in several major projects at SCC, including website redesigns, a new logo adoption and brand identity guide, the evolution of The Alumni News, and the transition from a quarter academic calendar to a semester calendar.

Stu has been in higher education marketing/public relations since 1992 and has worked at both two- and four-year schools. He began his tenure at SCC in January 2008.

He obtained a bachelor’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University and a master’s degree from Southwestern College (Kansas).
