Victoria Mcgruer

Victoria McGruer, PhD, is a toxicologist currently employed at the Southern California Coastal Water Research Project since November 2023. Previously, Victoria served as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Riverside, where research focused on standardizing in vitro cell bioassays, studying the biomagnification of endocrine-disrupting compounds, and investigating the developmental effects of phenanthrene on fish embryos. Victoria's research experiences include using zebrafish models to explore crude oil toxicity and participating in ecological assessments following an oil spill. Additional research roles encompassed internships and assistant positions at various institutions, including the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and Massachusetts Water Resources Authority. Victoria holds a PhD in Environmental Toxicology and a BS in Environmental Science and Biology from Northeastern University.
