Sheree Sturgis has a diverse range of experience in human resources, primarily in the areas of compliance, employee relations, and policy development. Sheree began their career as a Human Resources Director at Automation Research Systems, LTD from June 1997 to March 2000, where they led a team and was responsible for developing and implementing the company's Affirmative Action Plan. Sheree then joined Delta Air Lines in May 2000 as a Human Resources Generalist, investigating claims of discrimination and harassment, and providing guidance on HR-related issues. From May 2002 to November 2004, they served as the HR Compliance Program Manager at Delta Air Lines, evaluating and interpreting HR policies and programs, conducting system-wide investigations, and serving as the primary contact for the Corporate Compliance Program. Sturgis then moved to AGL Resources in November 2004, where they worked as a Sr. HR Manager, partnering with the business to plan organizational change and conducting investigations into complaints and EEO issues. Finally, they joined Southern Company Gas in May 2013 as the Director of Human Resources, leading the HR function for various operations and advising leadership on decision-making and large-scale change efforts. Sheree later took on the role of Director of Ethics and Compliance, responsible for aligning people strategy with business objectives and directing performance management programs, workforce planning, and employee relations practices.
Sheree Sturgis earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Marketing from Hampton University in 1989. Following that, they attended North Carolina Central University School of Law from 1989 to 1992, where they obtained their Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Law.
