Kristen Welton

Kristen Welton currently serves as the Associate Director of Annual Giving at Southern Connecticut State University, a position held since May 2024. Prior to this role, Kristen was the Senior Development Manager at the Alzheimer's Association®, overseeing the Walk to End Alzheimer's of Greater New Haven from May 2021 to May 2024. Kristen's experience includes positions such as Development Manager for Peer to Peer Events at JDRF International and Corporate Relations Manager at Stepping Stones Museum for Children, where fundraising initiatives were significantly enhanced. Additionally, Kristen held various roles at the American Cancer Society, including Senior Community Events Manager, and Communications & Marketing Specialist at the American Heart Association. Kristen began a career in communications and advocacy with positions at Make-A-Wish Foundation and StandardsWork, where impactful marketing and communication strategies were developed to support educational legislation. Kristen earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School and a Bachelor’s degree in English from The George Washington University.
