Katie Akin

Katie Akin is an experienced editorial professional with a strong background in copy editing and content creation. Since December 2018, Katie has served as Assistant Copy Editor at Southern Living Magazine, focusing on maintaining high copy standards for the nation's largest regional magazine brand. Previous roles include Copy Assistant at Meredith Corporation and Editorial Fellow for Cooking Light and Food & Wine, as well as Copy Editor and Arts and Books Editor at Vox Magazine. Additional experience encompasses teaching assistant roles at the Missouri School of Journalism and the MU Writing Center, alongside internships at The Missouri Review, The Children's Book Council, and The Columbia Missourian. Katie holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, English, and Women and Gender Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
