Anil Jha is a Senior Mechanical Construction Engineer at Southern Nuclear, with extensive experience in engineering and operations within the nuclear sector. Starting at Bechtel Power Corporation as a Field Engineer, Anil progressed through various roles, including Plant Design Engineer and Start-Up Test Engineer, before joining Southern Nuclear. Throughout a career spanning over four decades, Anil has demonstrated expertise in mechanical design, construction, and regulatory compliance, particularly in the development and review of design change packages and mechanical system assessments. Anil has also served as an Operations Training Instructor, developing training programs for licensed operators, and has led significant investigations into human performance and safety culture within the industry. Anil holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bihar.

Southern Nuclear operates a total of seven units for Alabama Power and Georgia Power at the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant near Dothan, Ala.; the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant near Baxley, Ga., and the Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant near Waynesboro, Ga. The company recently achieved commercial operation on Vogtle Unit 3 and is the current licensee of Vogtle Unit 4, which is under construction. Both of these units represent historic achievements for the nuclear industry as the first new nuclear units to reach commercial operation and be built in the United States in the last three decades.
