Tina Mitchell has an extensive work experience spanning several industries. Tina is currently serving as the Chief Executive at Earthquake Commission (EQC) since January 2022, where they were previously the Chief Strategy Officer from July 2020 to January 2022. Prior to their role at EQC, Tina worked in consulting from November 2019 to July 2020, specializing in strategy, policy, and legal disputes. Tina also served as the Deputy Banking Ombudsman - Prevention at the Banking Ombudsman Scheme (NZ) from April 2017 to October 2019. From 2014 to 2017, they worked at ACC New Zealand, holding various roles including Shared Capability Manager and Principal Advisor. Tina's earlier work experience includes positions at ACC, McBride Davenport James, Ministry of Health New Zealand, Office of the Health and Disability Commissioner, Morrison Kent, and Bell Gully.
Tina Mitchell attended the University of Canterbury from 1990 to 1995, where they obtained a degree in LLB (Hons) / BA. In 1995, they also attended Victoria University of Wellington for a program in Legal Professionals. In 2021 to 2022, they completed the Breakthrough Leaders Programme at Global Women. Currently, they are pursuing the GAICD degree at the Australian Institute of Company Directors, which is expected to be completed in 2023.
