Director Of Communications & Outreach at Southern Virginia Higher Education Center

Hope Harris-Gayles is an accomplished professional currently serving as the Director of Communications & Outreach at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center since February 2007, after holding various roles including Associate Director and Communications Manager. With extensive experience in communications and outreach, Hope has successfully expanded in-house services and overseen agency project management. Prior to this, experience includes positions as Programs Manager and Career Counselor/Program Coordinator, focused on student outreach and academic support. Earlier roles include administrative support for the Middle College program and case management for out-of-school youth at Southside Virginia Community College, along with experience in education as a teacher at Charlotte County Public Schools. Academic qualifications include a Master of Education in Community Counseling from the University of Lynchburg, a Public Relations Certificate from the University of Virginia, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Randolph College.
